The job
- As global purchaser packaging you will be responsible for implementing the procurement strategy of the members at your product portfolio
- Establishing purchasing plans for each business period
- Work very close with the lead buyers of the members to achieve an optimal cooperation and concentration on suppliers
- Negotiating contract terms and conditions with suppliers and managing and follow up on contract renewals to ensure continuity and on-time delivery
- Establishing and developing clear cost and price analysis overviews to find alternative supply sources and follow market prices
- Establishing and fostering long term relationships with key suppliers
Profile
- HBO or academic degree, preferably augmented by relevant purchasing courses
(f.e. Nevi) - A minimum of 5 year’s experience within the procurement function in a trading
company in an international context (procurement of commodities / strategic alliances). Experience in the packaging industry is an advantage - Fluent in written and spoken English and preferably German and / or another European language
- Familiar with e-procurement and other leading procurement tools and techniques
is an advantage - Experience in negotations with pan European and ideally also Asian suppliers
- Able to work well in teams and independently
- Ability to contribute to strategic planning
- Human relation skills are a requirement, as the purchaser must communicate effectively with all levels of the companies
- Ability to negotiate internally and externally
- High level of personal drive and motivation. Pro activ and result oriented
- Willing to travel frequently
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft office applications
Client
Our client is a cooperative purchasing organization located near to Eindhoven Airport. At the moment the company has 6 members in different European countries. The objective is to combine purchase quantities and make binding agreements with suppliers on behalf of its members. For this fast and stable growing organization we are currently searching for a Global Purchaser
