The Role

The Global spend in logistics amounts app € 300 mio ( € 200 mio Europe) which spend is managed by the Global Logistics Sourcing organization. In this role, you will be the procurement business partner for 11 businesslines in EMEIA regarding Road Packed and Warehouse Services You will be joining a team of 6 Category Managers EMEIA and report to the Regional Logistic Sourcing Leader.

Location; Arnhem and later Amersfoort (2022)


Your mission is:

  • Regional procurement of logistics (all aspects; specify, negotiate, contract etc.) for the sub-category Road Packed & WHS
  • Support development of a coherent regional Logistics plan aligned with the Logistics Strategy and the individual Business lines logistics requirements
  • Contribute to the continuous cross BU assessment and benchmarking to identify logistics improvement opportunities
  • Participates in projects on logistics procurement related topics.

Responsibilities:

  • Support to develop and deploy The Logistics Strategy aligned with the Business lines requirements / strategy
  • Support commercial controls to fully leverage Nouryon power in the market to secure maximum benefit to individual Business lines
  • Contribute to modelling & simulation, footprint development, logistics mode selection to ensure cross Business lines synergies and benefits are captured.

Requirements

Besides the commercial awareness you have a strong sense of accountability and ownership with a high level of autonomy to develop spend and cost reduction projects and execute on those together with stakeholders and other procurement members. You have the ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and you are highly effective with stakeholder management. We hope that you are familiar with the next aspects we think are essential to have to make this job a success:

  • Business or engineering degree at bachelor/university level
  • At least 5 years relevant work experience in logistics/supply chain activities
  • Strong background in logistics operations and HSE requirements (warehousing and transportation)
  • Strong analytical & interpersonal skills and ability to influence and guide others
  • Experience with lean management methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of sourcing strategy creation (Strategic Sourcing Methodology)
  • Experience in Sourcing and contract management
  • Experience with project management
  • Good communication skills
  • Following software skills
    • MS-Office
    • Working in a SharePoint environment
  • Fluently in English
